Trump Launches Military Action Against Houthis in Yemen

US President Donald Trump has ordered decisive military action against Houthi rebels in Yemen. The attacks come in response to ongoing piracy and violence targeting international shipping. Trump vows to protect maritime freedom and hold Iran accountable for its support of the insurgents, following a series of deadly strikes in Sana.

President of the USA Donald Trump called for a decisive and strong counteraction against the militant Houthi terrorist group in Yemen, warning of possible consequences from the US side. As a result of the attack on positions of Shia insurgents in the city of Yemen, San'a, at least nine people died, and nine others were injured. Trump stated that they will be eliminated by a "huge killing force" until the goal is achieved - to protect American maritime, aerial, and land assets and restore freedom of navigation.

Trump also accused Iran of aiding the Houthis and stated that compensation for this should be necessary. In his address, he also directly referred to Iran: "Do not threaten the American people, its president (...) and the global maritime routes".
