The government has blamed the Houthis for the full responsibility for the blockade of the Marib region in the Yemeni international community. “This crime against humanity and military actions in that area must be urgently stopped,” the government's statement says. Marib is the last stronghold of the government in the northern part of the country and currently, fighting is ongoing there.
The statement indicates that the Houthis have so far not adhered to the ceasefire, introduced in January, and have not shown readiness for political consultations. The government also asserts that the Houthis continue to threaten the peace and safety of the local population.
“We call on the international community to intervene and take necessary measures to end this aggression,” the statement concludes.
