On Monday, the US Department of Defense reported that military operations conducted against the Houthis in Yemen are described as the "first wave" and will continue until the "establishment of defined objectives."
"These operations include military actions at sea and in the air. We believe that they are necessary to bring peace and stability to the region," said a representative of the department.
The representative of the Department of Defense underlined that military actions are not aimed at the civilian population, but only at combatants who threaten safety and stability in the region.
"Our goal is to prevent Houthi attacks and help establish a peaceful political settlement in Yemen," he added.
So far, no specific steps have been communicated that will be undertaken within the framework of this "first wave" of operations.
