The Organization of the United Nations welcomed an agreement among the parties on declaring a ceasefire between the United States and the Houthis during the mediation of Oman.

According to a statement by the press secretary of the UN Secretary-General, the agreement of the parties to ceasefire in Yemen is considered "an important step towards ceasing the conflict in the country." The negotiations leading to this agreement took place in Muscat, the capital of Oman.

During the negotiations, the parties reached an agreement on the cessation of hostilities in the Marib province, one of the most tense points in the conflict in Yemen. This agreement is dubbed as a means to revive the political process in the country and to reduce the suffering of the civilian population.
